Gait Assessment

Gait assessment or analysis is the process of measuring and assessing body movements, mechanics, and the activity of the muscles in walking and running. This specific assessment is often part of a Biomechanical review that is conducted within a Podiatry clinical setting. Tim uses the program 'Kinovea' in video gait analysis that assists in detailed assessment, patient education and training.

WHAT TO BRING TO THE ASSESSMENT

  • Any Health professional referral or scanning you may have in relation to your complaint.

  • Patients are advised to wear shorts, to allow effective assessment of lower limb function while maintaining comfort and modesty. Short skirts and tight jeans are both unhelpful.
