Podiatry Sports Screening

The purpose of a sports screening session is to help identify any risk factors  in relation to the participants chosen sport. This action is taken to help decrease the number of sport specific -related injuries. These consultations are used to identify the current musculoskeletal condition of the athlete and allow factors predisposiing an athlete to injury (or a previous injury)  to be identified and addressed. In a Podiatry specific sense the information gained via these sessions can be utilised to reduce the chance of injury and or enhance the sporting ability of the athlete. These principles can be applied to many and varied sporting environments from field to court sports as well as running and preparation for hiking.
