Soft Tissue Management

Soft tissue management is often a component in the treatment plan of many conditions seen in the lower limb and feet. This may consist of one or several of the following interventions. An appropriate plan will be structured according to your injury and ability in injury management and rehabilitation.

Lower limb Stretch Program
Stretching has shown to help with improving muscle and joint flexibility and mobility. A stretch program targeting specific muscle groups is imperitive in treatment in many foot and lower limb injuries.

Manual Therapy
Manual therapy can help to complement other and self treatment modalities. These can include massage, mobilisation and trigger point therapy.

Strapping and Taping
Various taping techniques with rigid and kinseo tape can help to stabilise and support structures of the foot and ankle. These techniques are often useful in rehabilitation and are often demonstrated applied at time of treatment.


Lower limb Strength Program
A reduction in strength is often observed in foot pain, strengthening exercises targeting specific structures has helped in management of many foot complaints. Increasingly a strength program targeting specific muscle groups is imperitive in treatment in many foot and lower limb injuries.

Foam Rolling
Foam rolling is a self guided myofascial release technique. It can help relieve muscle tightness, soreness, and inflammation, and increase your joint range of motion. Foam rolling can be an effective tool to add to your warm-up or cooldown, as well as a component in injury management.

Chairside Inshoe Devices
'Çhairside' devices include such additions as inshoe wedges, metatarsal domes, arch supports and cushioning materials. These are often implemented in shoe at the time of consultation as a trial
